UPDATE ON DWAYNE 2 main things! 1. He’s home in the Broken Hill Hospital and 2. He finally got to see his babies!
He was flown home on the RFDS to continue his recovery for an estimate of 6 weeks in the Broken Hill Hospital, then once his graft is healed he will head back to Adelaide for a while to start his prosthetic process.
We could not be happier and we just want to let everyone know that he is being extremely positive about this all, and he has been from the moment they woke him up from his coma. Still a long and rough road ahead but with all the support he has received and his positive attitude, we know he will ace it.
Thank you for all the generosity. Donations, post shares, well wishes, all of it. It hasn’t gone unnoticed and he will be forever thankful to you all.
My name is Isobella Perry and I am the sister in-law of Dwayne.
On the 20th of June 2023, Dwayne Henderson, as a result of tragic circumstances, became victim to a stabbing which resulted in him losing his left leg to save his life. After being on life support for several days and his future looking grim, Dwayne is now awake and doing well. He does have a long road to full recovery and many more operations to go, but for now he is progressing well.
Due to this life changing event, himself and Amy will not be able to work for the foreseeable future, will both be required to travel back and forth to Adelaide for ongoing medical treatment and will have extensive home modifications to complete before Dwayne can come home.
We are asking for donations, big or small, to help support Dwayne and his family during this time.
All of the love and support that has already been shown has not gone unnoticed and is extremely appreciated.
We would also like to express our gratitude for the Broken Hill Hospital for their amazing, hard work in getting Dwayne to Adelaide, and the Royal Adelaide Hospital for the care and support they have provided to both Dwayne and Amy.
