Dear Family & Friends,
The Raines family is experiencing an extremely difficult situation and they need our help!
As many of you know, Jason Raines was recently admitted to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Unfortunately, this relatively simple procedure proved to be a much more difficult operation due to complications with Jason’s digestive tract.
After more than 3 grueling hours of laparoscopic surgery, Jason’s baseball-size appendix was finally removed! The surgeon commented that he had performed nearly 1,000 appendectomies and Jason’s was indeed one of the most difficult procedures he had ever performed!
Thankfully, Jason’s prognosis is very good for a full recovery and it seems insurance may cover a large portion of his medical expenses. However, due to the severity of the operation and risk for infection, Jason must remain in the hospital for at least a week—possibly longer! His road to recovery beyond the hospital stay is expected to severely limit his ability to work—this could have devastating consequences on his family’s finances!
Due to the limited time on his new job, Jason cannot take advantage of any accumulated sick time or paid time off—there isn’t any available to him! This would be a difficult situation for any one of us, but it’s especially tough for the Raines family, which includes their 3 beautiful foster children (pictured above with identities protected).
For many years, Jason and Brandi Raines have given so freely of their time and energy to share God’s love by helping those in need, including many of you reading this! They continually open their hearts and home to everyone; becoming foster parents to many precious children who need to experience God’s love and compassion.
