Dwight D. Egbert

We are a team of computer science and business students at the University of Nevada, Reno raising funds for a memorial tree for Dwight D. Egbert, Ph.D. Egbert was a professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSE) at the University. He began at the Electrical Engineering Department before helping to establish the CSE Department. His research focused on computer applications in embedded systems and video game design. Egbert always had compassion for the students he taught and wanted them to succeed. He valued computer scientists as looking “at the theory and practice of computing.” Egbert’s small acts of compassion and commitment have touched the lives of his students and faculty within the department.
