Dwight’s emergency vet visit
Spende geschützt
As all of you know Dwight is our only child and our number 1 priority. We spent Sunday evening awake with Dwight as he continuously vomited. He started out with just throwing up his food and then it progressed to just liquid and bile since there was nothing else in his stomach anymore. His vomiting became worse and there was less and less time between each fit of vomiting. We started to get more worried and ended up taking him to his regular veterinary hospital for some diagnostics. Based off his symptoms we were originally worried about something like a foreign body causing an obstruction or something of the sorts. They took radiographs and send them off for interpretation but they came back normal. The vets decided to send him home with medication consisting of anti-nausea, and GI protectants. They also gave him an injection of anti-nausea medication but the second we left the hospital Dwight continued to vomit through the medication. He then progressed to having bloody diarrhea and had no interest in food. We decided it was time to take him to the emergency hospital. Luckily they were able to hospitalize overnight, place an IV catheter and administer IV fluids to get his rehydrated. After about 18 hours of hospitalization we were able to visit him and got him to finally eat for us, resulting in us being able to take him home thank goodness, we are still monitoring him to make sure he continues to eat and doesn’t vomit and and his diarrhea goes away after a couple days. They ended up diagnosing him with gastroenteritis, we are just hoping he continues to eat and not throw up and get plenty of rest he’s definitely not the same Dwight that were used to. He’s very tired But getting better! Seeing as though we had to go to multiple vets and use the emergency vet hospital overnight the vet piled up and we could use some help even though it’s extremely difficult for me to ask for help because i know everyone has there own financial responsibility’s but even the smallest amount helps! Thank you so much from Dwight ash and trev ❤️❤️
