D'won Fields Jr. (DJ) Trade School Scholarship

D'won Fields Jr. (DJ) was murdered on March 5, 2021 when he was gunned down while driving his car in Bluffton, SC.  DJ was the most sincere and authentic young man that many people have ever met.  DJ was a Bluffton High School student who was set to graduate this year.  DJ worked at Kilwins of Bluffton and was respected and loved by his co-workers, classmates and friends.

DJ has a family who are made of heavenly gold.  His parents, Mrs. Kema Bryant and D'won Fields Sr. loved DJ with their entire hearts.  He was their whole world.  DJ's Grandma Shirley and Nanna Mary were his biggest fans and he would visit them before school, after school and after work...EVERYDAY.

DJ was a true example of kindness and fairness and his example has influenced the lives of many in sports and in work.  He was a diligent, hard worker who wanted to enroll into a trade school for welding.  He was larger than life and his smile and protector personality will be sorely missed by all of us.

This scholarship will be available to local students or adults who decide to attend a trade school only just like DJ was.  The recipients who are awarded the funds each year, will be chosen by DJ's fellow Kilwins' staff from now through many years to come.  This will forge each of us together to use DJ's legacy as a way to lift others up who have the same goal DJ had.

DJ was one amazing young man who never met a stranger.  He made you feel like family and treated everyone with respect.  He comes from a family of total love and forgiveness and he will be missed forever.  We ask for your donation to help further DJ's example and promote who he was to us...FAMILY
