Help Frank & Kat Recover from House Fire
Frank and Katlynn Rose Blakely Suchomel are such a huge part of the Austin creative community. Last night their dryer caught on fire and their house went up in flames. Not only is the house a total loss, their vintage Armadillo bus (which was for sale) and their inventory for their business (which was currently stored in their home due to Covid) was destroyed. Thankfully both of them and their beloved pets were unharmed.
These lovely humans have continuously given back to the Austin creative community, and recently opened their dream shop, Curia Arcanum's HOUSE OF CURIOSITIES. They have big plans on moving the shop and just closed on a live/work space for both them, the shop, and as a community space. Then Covid struck. And now a fire. Their future space is secure, though they cannot move in until February 2021 and they no longer have furnishings or inventory for the future shop.
As this is such a recent disaster, they will need short term housing, basic necessities, and eventually household items. They have a love for antiques and saving curiosities from bygone eras.
Right now, cash is king because it will help them with a short term living situation and get clothes on their backs. When that situation is settled, we will ask for donations of household items.
We know that everyone is hurting right now. Ifyou are able to donate, we are extremely grateful. If you are able to donate time for cleanup or help in other ways, we would love to hear from you as well.
Thank you to George Morthole for being the beneficiary for Kat and Frank as they close on a new place to live. Unfortunately buying a house requires a lot of paperwork and one of the requirements is that they cannot show extra “income” and get the loan that was already underway before the fire. George has stepped up to help make sureKat and Frank get the funds they desperately need right now for essential supplies that were lostin the fire.
