Brocks Recovery

Hi all,

on Saturday 24th of June at 2:15am life as we knew it for Brock changed.

Brock Suffered a sudden onset of Ventricular fibrillation also known as vfib or VF. This is when the bottom of the heart stops working leading to a cardiac arrest.

Brock Received 10 minutes of life saving CPR from his partner Kate prior to paramedics arriving who continued their work.

Brock suffered a cardiac Arrest multiple times prior to arriving at hospital and requiring multiple shocks and a large amount of medication to restart his heart.

Paramedics made the hard decision to place a Tracheal intubation to take over Brocks breathing.

Brock arrived at Wollongong Hospital where they made the decision officially sedated him and placed him onto a ventilator.

brock was admitted ICU and after many meetings with doctors and nurses the unknown of the affect on brock was the harsh obstacle we faced such as breathing on his own, his memory etc.

brock has now woken , he is able to talk and breath on his own but has a long road to recovery ahead , brother is looking a lengthy hospital stay as the reason for the sudden cardiac arrest is yet to be determined and is facing an operation and life with a ICD or pace maker.

Prior to this, Brock was the bread winner whilst his partner Kate raised their 7 month old baby whilst on maternity leave .

Brock runs his own business and worked

long days and long hours. Brock has now been told he won’t be in any way fit for work for a long time come.

We are reaching out to the community to help us try and relieve finical pressure in this time to help brock focus on his recovery fully and his family to be able to help get him back to where he was prior to this happening.

this would help go to things such as rent , food , medical bills such specialist appointments ahead and furthermore everyday living.
