Stand with Oromos in Dharraa district, Oromia

Tax deductible
Macha Tulama Association (MTA) is a well known Oromo Humanitarian organisation that has organised multiple fundraisers in the past through gofundme and community fundraisers to provide emergency assistance to the displaced. MTA appeals to you to support massively displaced Oromos in various places in Salaalee, especially in Dharraa District, Oromia, who survived recurrent merciless attacks by Fano. MTA is reaching out for your support in its vital mission to deliver humanitarian aid to the Oromo people in Dharraa district, who are currently facing severe shortages of food, clothing, shelter, and medical supplies.

For the last three years, the Fanos, armed groups from the Amhara Regional State have been encroaching repeatedly into Salaalee and terrorizing people in rural communities. Targeting Oromos, merely based on their ethnicity, the Fanos have been committing unprecedented atrocities on the people. They have been repeatedly raiding, pillaging, burning villages, and murdering unarmed civilians. Due to total absence of protection from the Regional Government of Oromia as well as the Federal Government of Ethiopia, the extremist and overzealously expansionist elements of Fanno have remained freely roaming across mainly Dharraa District and wreaking havoc.
As a result, engulfed in a state of unrelenting state of the terror unleashed by Fanos, the affected Oromo people of Dharraa had to abandon their homes and seek refuge elsewhere in the district and adjoining districts appearing to have some peace and security. However, in the areas they moved to they ran into a dire situation: they had no roof over their heads, no food and clean water, and no clothing. Due to lack of these necessities of life, many of them had reportedly died of starvation especially during the last couple of years.
The living condition of the displaced people of Dharraa is not getting any better but worse. It is getting grimmer by the day as more and more people get uprooted and added to the rank of the displaced.
The latest incident of the literal butchering of the Oromo youth in Dharraa has put the people of Salaale on the edge. It is expected that many more of them could leave their homes out of fear of the Fanno reign of terror.
Given the escalating state of terror that has led to a huge humanitarian crisis, MTA, on behalf of victims of the Fanno brutality, is appealing to all Oromos across the globe to support them financially, morally and materially. Your support is critically needed to provide the displaced Oromos with food, water, clothing, and medical service as soon as possible.
MTA also calls on all friends of the Oromo, community organizations civic associations to stand with MTA in this worthwhile campaign geared to saving the life of our people in Salaale.
