Corrective Jaw Surgery
Donation protected
As many of you know, my name is Brittany Partridge. It’s not easy for me to come out to the public and ask for help, nor to post my side view. I try my best to not even ask family for money unless I’ve worked for it myself, but I already work full time, and have lots of bills to pay. None of this is from lack of trying. It would take me several years to be able to save this much, the main problem I’m having is that this surgery is hindering my ability to join the military. I was hoping to enlist by this summer, but the more this is put off, the longer the wait, or the possibility of it never happening. I would give anything to be able to afford this surgery myself. For the last three years I’ve been preparing for this surgery, and finally was approved. The problem is that a need a co-pay of $8500 to be able to afford it, and expires by December. This isn’t just a cosmetic surgery, though. I was in an accident at the age of 5, where my nose was shattered. At that age, your growth rate is exponential. After surgery, your bones no longer grow correctly, and definitely not at the same pace. So, my mid-face no longer grew correctly. My lower jaw started to grow at a different angle making it appear longer, because it was unable to grow forward, it went downwards. The orthodontist and the surgeon say that if the surgery isn’t done soon, and the longer I wait, the more likely I am to develop TMJ (lock jaw), and can cause digestive issues from inability to chew correctly. Also, the surgery will help me breathe & eat better. I understand that not everyone will be able to donate, but if everyone could share it, or even just give the minimum, my day to day life and confidence would be changed forever. Thank you all for taking the time to read this
