3D printed face shields

Donation protected

Hi my names Kian I’m 14 years old and a pupil at Collingwood college in Camberley. At the beginning of the Covid crisis I saw a Facebook post from my school highlighting a project being worked on by one of my teachers Mr Thomas. He was 3D printing head bands which would then be built up to make face shields/ visors for frontline workers. I myself have a 3D printer and seeing this inspired me to contact Mr Thomas to ask how I could get involved. For the last few weeks I have been printing and producing my own face shields at home.  I have relied on family members and friends, in particular my parents to help fund this. Whilst 3D printing isn’t hugely expensive, when printing on this scale, the costs do being to mount.

I am looking for any support to take the pressure of my parents as I am keen to keep this going for as long as we have to and provide shields to as many organisations as possible.

Currently we are purchasing PLA filament, clear binder covers and button hole elastic.

Any amount raised will be put only into this project. Any additional raised and left at the end will be passed to NHS & Carehome charities, I want to be clear that none of it will be used for any other purposes.

I am currently providing to care homes, schools and NHS services and happy to support any other business that needs help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
