Sara's Fight Against Breast Cancer

My name is Dawn and I'm raising funds for my dear friend Sara.

Sara moved to Korea, a dream of hers, in July to teach and learn/experience the culture of her birth country. Everything was coming together and she was thrilled. Then it all came crashing down. She noticed a lump in her breast at the beginning of September, but because of a normal mammogram in June, we thought it was probably nothing. We were wrong.

Sara was diagnosed with Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer. Initially she hoped to stay in Korea for treatment, but she wouldn't be able to work, would need to move to Seoul, and without a job or six months in country to get national health coverage, she couldn't stay.

The difficult decision was made to return to the US for treatment.

Sara and Paul are separated and although he has graciously offered to let her live at the house again, she doesn't want to be a financial burden. She will be there until January when she moves to the home of a friend who is away for the winter.

Anyone who knows Sara knows what a special person she is. She has rallied her warrior women friends to help her in this fight, but she is going to need financial support a well. Sara won't be able to work because of the aggressiveness of the cancer that requires an equally aggressive treatment plan. She will need financial assistance to cover living expenses and medical fees beyond what insurance covers.

She is a fighter. She is an optimist. She is ready to kick cancer's a$$.
