Dylan Dobson’s Battle with Stage 4 Cancer

Hello, as many of you know we are the Dobson family, and never in a million years would we have thought we would be making a page to raise money to cover expenses while Dylan goes through his fight with cancer at just 30 years old, but unfortunately here we are.. Six months ago, Dylan noticed a spot on his tongue. We thought nothing of it, just assumed it was an ulcer from all the sunflower seeds he had been eating, but it continued to grow, cause him pain, and never heal. At an ENT appointment recently for our 1 year old daughter he happened to mention it to her doctor and as soon as he saw Dylan's tongue he said it needed a biopsy. Our daughter's ENT personally reached out to the Head of Head and Neck cancer at UT Southwestern Hospital and got Dylan in to see him. We will forever be grateful for our daughters doctor because just a short 2 weeks later here we are with a confirmed cancer diagnosis and a long road ahead of us. Dylan's doctor has described to us the process, and just how serious and long the surgery, treatment, recovery, and therapy will be. Without going into too much detail, this will require a large portion of his tongue to be removed and reconstructed with a skin graft, at least 1 week in the hospital, radiation/chemo will follow, and he will need speech therapy to learn to talk/swallow again. As you can imagine our minds are swirling around us trying to process and prepare. We are setting up this GoFundMe because though we have an amazing support system around us, and blessed with family that would do anything to help, Dylan is our family's provider and we just cannot see how we can support our family in this time where we all need to be 100% focused on him. The money raised will go to covering medical expenses, missed wages, and to help cover bills for the next few months as we walk through this life journey together.
