Dylan Figueroa's Eagle Project @ Butterfly House

Hi, my name is Dylan Figueroa and I am a Life Scout with Troop 451 in Milton, FL. I have been involved in scouting since first grade and have learned and grown so much because of my experiences with BSA. I have chosen the Panhandle Butterfly House as the beneficiary of my Eagle Project. The Butterfly House began its relocation to Milton a few years ago from Navarre after years of bringing joy to people who visited. The staff have worked tirelessly to get the new location open but continue to find themselves with more and more tasks that need to be done to optimize the experience. When I visited the Butterfly house to see what work needed to be completed, I found the need for informational signage. I decided to build and install a large, weatherproof information board that will allow for current event info to be changed out as needed. I also noticed a large variety of flowers and vegetation without signage to identify it. I will be placing 18-24 smaller plaque type signs on the property to include the plant name along with QR codes that will take you to a link with more information about the individual plants. I am hoping to start my project in the next week and am very excited about helping to get the Butterfly House ready to bring lots of joy to our community.
