On May 16 – 22, the best golfers in the world will be competing in the second major of the year, the PGA Championship at Southern Hills. Our own Dylan Newman has qualified and will be teeing off with the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy and maybe even Tiger Woods.
Qualifying is expensive. All of Dylan’s costs (travel, hotel and food expenses, entry fees and caddy costs and expenses) amounting to many thousands of dollars are coming out of his own pocket. Unlike other professional sports events, a player in PGA Tour events (including the PGA Championship) does not receive any payment unless he makes the cut. Dylan also had all of those same expenses to make it the PGA Team of 20.
Dylan’s primary income is derived from his teaching at Brae Burn which has been, and will continue for several more weeks to be, interrupted while he chases his lifetime dream, shows the Brae Burn logo to the world, and brings glory to our Club.
We realize everyone has special causes and priorities, but if you are able, please consider helping Dylan with a contribution so he can focus solely on playing the best golf he can at the 2022 PGA Championship and making us all incredibly proud to be his friend.
