Dear friends and family,
Apologies in advance for sharing this very sad story, but we need help and I think reaching out across social channels is the best way.
The beautiful people in this picture are the Rivas family. While on vacation this week in Punta Cana (the Dominican Republic), their 4 year old son, Dylan passed away.
We we are still waiting on answers, but it appears he had an undiagnosed heart condition and suffered a cardiac arrest. He was with his family during the attack and died in his mother’s arms.
The family needs emergency funds to transport their baby’s body home and lay him to rest. In the wake of this horror, I am hoping we can alleviate the financial stress of the situation.
Those who live in Manhattan Beach might recognize the mother, Erika. She has cared for many children in the area, including mine. She is incredibly kind, loving and always offering a warm smile. As a parent, I cannot imagine the nightmare she and her husband, Luis are in.
Dylan was a lively, happy, social boy. So sweet and thoughtful as he played with others. He is survived by a large grieving family, including his twin sister who will be celebrating her 5th birthday alone in August.
No contribution is too small. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers for the Rivas family.
