Dylan's Fight Against APML

My name is Katie Atha. I am Dylan's Aunt. I have started this fundraiser to try to raise money to help with expenses for my sister and her husband. They are already having to go through so much, and money should be the last thing they should have to worry about!

Dylan had started to get sick with a cough. The doctors initially thought he had an upper respiratory infection and prescribed antibiotics. After the antibiotics did not seem to help at all, on October 24th, 2022, my sister took my nephew, Dylan, back to his pediatrician. They took blood and noticed that his platelets were low. They told my sister that she needed to head to the hospital. That is when their world turned upside down.

They diagnosed Dylan with Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia (APML). He is just 2 years old. This type of cancer is a very rare form of Leukemia, and the doctors said that they had not seen a case in a patient this young in years. Due to how aggressive this form of cancer is, they wanted to start treatment right away. Little did we know, when they were doing other types of testing, they found blood clots in Dylan's heart. Dylan is currently in ICU.

We are all devastated and heartbroken; however, we know that Dylan is a fighter and he will get through this. Our God is powerful! If you are unable to donate, please share this link and keep us in your prayers!

This fundraiser will help with medical expenses and help Carter take off of work to be at the hospital with his son and wife. My sister is a SAHM and Carter is the Sole Provider. I would love for them all to be able to be together as they navigate Dylan's fight against APML!
