Dylan’s Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
Dylan is a wildland firefighter, based in Merritt, BC. This year is his 10th season fighting fires. On July 7th, Dylan suffered burns to his chest, neck, arm, and face during a fire accident, whilst fighting the Sparks Lake fire in Kamloops. He was airlifted to Vancouver and will be spending a good chunk of time in the ICU, eventually moving to the burn unit for rehab. Dylan’s journey to recovery will be a long one, and will rely on a lot of support from all aspects of his day to day life.

We sincerely and greatly appreciate all the messages of love and support. Due to Covid restrictions he is not allowed any friends to come visit at this time, but I try and relay all messages to him when I can.

Myself and his family would like to thank everyone in advance for any donations, as they will be helping Dylan through the next few months, especially during rehab for his arm and neck. We have received a lot of outpouring love from his brotherhood of firefighters, including the pilots who were working the fire with him. But those of us who know Dylan know he is a stubborn beaut, who will exceed our expectations and pull through this with flying colours.

Thank you all again so much in advance. He is in the best care at Vancouver, surrounded by the most helpful nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals.
