Dylans TREK
Donation protected
This past October, 2020 the Galarza family's life changed as they knew it. Their son Dylan only 5 years old was rushed to the hospital because he had an uncontrollable nose bleed. After extensive testing, he was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. Aplastic Anemia is a rare condition that doesn't allow your your body to reproduce blood cells which are needed to protect your body from infections.
Over the last four months, doctors have started the first step in treating Dylan to overcome this condition. Patiently everyone has waited for some this treatment was working, during this time Dylan has spent many nights in Mass General Hospital having multiple blood transfusions each week trying to keep his body healthy. Unfortunately, they never got the results they hoped for, and the family was given another treatment plan. This second plan will require Dylan to be transferred to Boston's Childrens Hospital where he will receive a bone marrow transplant. Even though the specialist is very confident this treatment will work, Dylan is going to have to endure a minimum of thirty days in the hospital while receiving radiation treatments along with the transplant. The next step will not be easy on the Galarza family even if it is succesful, there will be multiple trips to Boston. There has always been a parent by his side every night during this, and that will continue while in Boston Children's Hospital, with your help we can make it both.
This Fundraiser is to help with the things that you don't think of, lost time of work, gas, parking, food on top of your regular monthly expenses. Anything you can do to help the Galarza's and little Dylan would be appriciated. The Galarza family should only have to focus on Dylan getting better, not the financial burden of it all.
