Dzeniferes Rumpanes tiesiskajai aizsardzibai

Please help fund my Goddaughter Dženifere (Jennifer) Rumpāne’s defense against her shocking treatment by Italian Authorities! (description of her crimes below).  So far, her parents have spent their life savings for her defense and living costs associated with house arrest.  They might lose their home because of it.  As a point of reference, the mother is a music teacher who makes 600 euro ($703) a month.  The father is in construction, and also makes very little in comparison to the rest of the world.

Every little bit will help. I thank you all for your help in advance.

UPDATE on my Goddaughter Dženifer (Jennifer) Rumpāne situation.

As many of you have heard, Jennifer was arrested in Italy on August 19th  in Italy.  The incident began in 2014 when she started her higher education in piano.  She purchased a bus ticket, but when asked for her to show it she could not find it in that instance (she later found it at the bottom of her coat pocket).  She was escorted off the bus and was asked to show her identification.  She did not do so because she did not know who was asking her, as they themselves did not show any ID.  At first, she gave them a false name, but later, when she realized that this may be legitimate, she did in-fact show her passport.  She was let go and told not to do that again.

Between 2014 and 2019 she studied in Italy, receiving her Master’s in Jazz Piano, and held many concerts there.

In August, she traveled with her duet partner to Italy to both obtain her final Master’s Degree Diploma and to record an advertisement for the concert duo.  While there, she was taken away by the police and put in jail.  There she sat until about two weeks ago, where she clearly had been abused, judging by her bruises and mental trauma.

Currently she is under house arrest in Rome.  Her next court date is November 5th (or 4th).  I have read the records as provided by Italy and translated by Latvia.  Her attorney in Italy and attorney in Latvia have confirmed that many of her human rights were violated.  Among these are: She was not offered translator in the beginning, not offered to get help from the Embassy, those who took her off the bus did not show their credentials (and it is now believed, as an outsourced company, did not have the power to call the police),  she was tried in court of law in absentia without being notified to show up for a court hearing (although she had been studying in Italy legally and they did have her Latvia home address), and no arrest warrant was presented to her when she was taken away.

At this point in time, both Dženifere and her parents, are very traumatized by these events, and will likely be in counseling for a long period of time.

Attorneys are now thinking that, when this is over, this is going to a higher European Court as a human rights violation case.
