Rifugio Fata shelter, Lamezia Terme, is an accredited, private dog shelter in Calabria, Southern Italy and is part of ONLUS. Rifugio Fata gives shelter to approx. 120 dogs and 10 puppies. The number can fluctuate and depends on abandoned dogs/puppies, their possibility for adoption and the cure of injured or sick dogs until they can be put up for adoption.

Rifugio Fata has 42 kennels for to 2-3 dogs each, 2 training areas, a room for the sick dogs, a kennel for the puppies, a house/kennel for the oldies, ‘Enrico’ room for mother dogs and the newborn puppies, a room for the sick dogs, the vet room/clinic, a wooden house to familiarize the dogs with a homey atmosphere and small library and a beautiful large green space among the olive trees where dogs can be walked and/or run free.
