Mike’s Miracle Mission

Hi friends, our family is reaching out during a deeply personal chapter of our family's journey. My dad, Mike Harris, is currently battling liver cancer. After an initial round of treatment, that we were hopeful would work, we recently learned the cancer did not respond to it. The next phase involves a new pill-form treatment, but the challenges extend beyond the medical side. Navigating the complexities of insurance coverage for this treatment is an additional layer of stress our family is dealing with. This new treatment is unfortunately thousands of dollars...per month. His previous treatment was really hard on him and has left him unable to work, disrupting a 40-year legacy of being the driving force behind his contracting business.

Dad has been the heart of his family, community and friends, known not just for his dedication but also for his infectious humor, boundless kindness, and unwavering love. He's been the pillar of support for anyone in need.

As we navigate the cancer treatment, the financial strain is becoming increasingly overwhelming. We are frequently traveling between Georgia and Texas, working with the specialized care offered at MD Anderson.

Our goal is to help my parents so my mom can be by my dad's side during treatments. Currently, she's working tirelessly with extra hours to keep things running. Unfortunately, cancer is extremely expensive, and the deductibles are resetting.

While Dad would never ask for help himself, we recognize that, as a community, your support could make a significant impact.
