Help Us With a Headstone
Hi, my name is Abigail. I am creating this on behalf of my family, for my sister, Molly Grace. She is on the right of the cover photo and I am on the left. The bottom photo is a scan of the tumor.
Molly is 24 and almost a month ago, she was diagnosed with a grade lV glioma/glioblastoma which is a very aggressive form of brain cancer. She has undergone surgery in order to remove part of the tumor but it has since grown back. There are a few aspects of it that have been noted as “atypical” and the surgeons requested that the biopsy be studied for scientific purposes. She will begin chemo and proton therapy on June 1st. My family is suffering greatly and as someone who has already dealt with mental illness for most of her life, I desperately need Molly to experience some amount of joy or relief. Prior to this my mom was working as a courtroom scopist but has since had to stop in order to fulfill the role of her full time caregiver.
What your funds will go towards:
Specialized meal plans and basic living needs until Molly is able to receive disability.
Medical costs including but not limited too speech therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy sessions, medications not covered by insurance and various other medical expenses which I will update as we go.
Travel costs for proton treatment. The first round entails an hour drive to and from Philadelphia every day for six weeks. The plan for the second round of treatment is dependent on how she responds.
The most pressing need right now is for a very good therapist/mental health professional who is able to communicate with the rest of her care team and talk with her at will. This is unfortunately just one of the things that her insurance does not cover. Her team has done everything they can to find someone within the network but this is one of many walls we’ve run into.
