Carly's National Medal

We hope this finds you all happy and well.
We are the Gascon Family, my husband Scott and I have two daughters, Carly and Shae. Our oldest daughter Carly entered a painting in the Scholastic Art Awards this year. She recieved a golden key award and an American Visions Medal at a ceremony held at COCC. In March we received a letter from the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. The letter stated that Carly had earned a National Medal in the 2016 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for her painting. Nearly 320,000 works of art and writing were submitted by students in grades 7-12 this year. Receiving a National Medal places her within the top 1% of all submissions. The National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall will be held On Thursday, June 2nd. She is allowed two guests to accompany her.
You can imagine how proud and excited we were!!! Although we were very excited, we now had to figure out how to get to New York. We live on a pretty tight budget. We could not tell her “Sorry we can't” this time.
So we are asking for your help. We have never been to New York. We have done a lot of research and have found that this trip will be very expensive. She will be graduating from high school the same day we return. It would mean the world to us to make this a special trip for her. It is hard to believe that this chapter is about to end and another will begin.
