Afghan family starting new life in America
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is David, and I am a now retired military veteran who worked with a young man named Karim while deployed to Afghanistan. Karim was my interpreter-translator while I was there, and he helped keep me safe during my time in-country. Karim and his family were in grave danger in Afghanistan due to his support to the U.S. military, and during the massive humanitarian non-combatant evacuation operation last August (2021), a group of military personnel and I (whom Karim had supported and protected over the years) were able to work with military contacts on the ground in Afghanistan to get Karim and his family (wife and three children) out of Afghanistan! However, they had additional hardships to endure -- they were stuck in a refugee camp in the middle east for 8 months afterwards, in a small room, awaiting news that they'd be allowed to come to the United States. Finally, in the spring of this year, they received news that they'd be allowed to immigrate to the US!
Karim and his family are currently beginning their new lives in the Pacific Northwest. As you can imagine, they are starting with nothing. They have a Sponsor Circle who is graciously helping them get set up, but more help is needed. Any amount you would consider donating to help this honorable family start their new life in the USA would be greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly to a bank account owned and managed only by Karim. Thanks in advance for your consideration and generosity, and God bless!
