Study Abroad!

Hi my name is Maddi, and I am a sophomore at Clemson University. I am majoring in modern languages, and my language emphasis is Japanese! After graduation, I plan on attending Graduate school to study linguistics. I would love to pursue a career in the translation industry, specifically for entertainment. I also plan on traveling abroad to teach English as a second language in Japan.

A crucial part of Clemson's modern languages program is study abroad. Without a semester overseas, I can't graduate. Sadly, study abroad is very expensive. I work a full time job on top of being a full time student. I live on my own, so saving money has been difficult. Over the summer, Clemson is hosting a faculty led study abroad in Japan. I would really love to attend, because it would be an amazing way for me to practice and improve my language skills!

Unfortunately, summer sessions are not offered financial aid. Without this aid, I can not afford to study abroad. I am saving money to cover my tuition for the summer session, and to help me cover my rent and car payment for the time I am overseas. Anything and everything is appreciated :)
