Nursing Mission Trip- Philippines

Hello!

My name is Kennedy Seidler I am originally from Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. I am attending East Texas Baptist University in the United States. I am currently in the nursing program and I have an amazing opportunity to go on a mission trip to the PHILIPPINES! But, I need the help of my friends and family or whoever is wanting to donate to a good cause.

The money donated towards my mission trip will be used by sending me and some of my other fellow nursing peers to give aid at the Mary Johnston Hospital in Manila (the capital city). We will be doing the following activities: vital signs, aseptic techniques, administering shots, patient education, and more! We will also be involved in helping out with the needs of the International Baptist Church in Makati City. 

Here is some additional information of the course objectives:
• Observe and participate in the nursing experience in the Filipino health care system
• Explain cultural variances in the delivery of care within a rural Filipino community and a rural Texas community
• Develop cross-cultural language and communication skills in the delivery of health promotion
• Relate the concepts of a team approach in serving in medically under-served areas
• Gain appreciation for Filipino culture in general
• Experience the Filipino Christian church, and mission strategy in the Philippines
• Enjoy the natural beauty of the Philippines
• Evaluate personal growth through critical reflection of experiential clinical learning

The trip is from May 9th-31st, 2016. All funds need to be in by April 2nd, 2016. 

This trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I will be so grateful for the money donated. I have always loved going on mission trips, seeing the joy in the people's eyes when they are helped and the joy they give me in return. I am so excited to share Christ's love with the people in the Philippines and to help them in any way possible. This opportunity will enable me to grow as a person spiritually and help with my education as I continue in my nursing program. 

I'd love to be the vessel for someone else who may not be able to go on missions themselves, but still want to contribute to missions and make a difference in another country by supporting me.
