Amputee needs help
Donation protected
My name is Steve Day and I am a 59 year old, single father to my 11 year old son. I have been an Arkansas and National Registered Paramedic for 39 years and a Paramedic Instructor for 29 years in my small community in Arkansas. I have also worked the last 11 years with the American Heart Association as a Volunteer Manager and assisting with Volunteers across the United States in assuring that quality programs are being conducted in training people in lifesaving procedures of CPR and advanced care.
Over this last year I began having issues with blood flow to my legs and went through surgeries for stents to be placed and arteries to be grafted. In July my left leg had a complete occlusion and they had to take me to surgery and amputate my leg below the knee and in August it was determined that the leg was still dying and they had to take me back to surgery and amputate above the knee.
Along with the expenses of so much medical procedures, it is now that the place I have rented for the last 10 years is unable to accommodate my disabilities and my use of a wheelchair. I cannot get into my sons room or the bathroom, etc. We must move in with my sister and we have to do construction on the back of her house to make rooms for my son and I to live.
The funds that I can receive will go to paying for the rooms to be added to my sisters house and expenses with my medical bills. I appreciate anyone that has the capability of helping me and my son.
Thank you!
