Craig Rice , Badly burned
Donation protected
Our Friend, Craig, was recently burned severely doing something that we have all probably done. Long story short, he was putting gasoline in a lawn mower that had been running and was hot. Gas splashed out and hit the hot motor and ignited. He received burns on over 20% of his body. Both legs are burned from the knee down and both feet. His left hand required graft surgery because that is the hand he used to try to put out the fire on his legs. The grafts on his legs and hand appear to be successful at this point. He has been at a burn center in Utah for over 3 weeks now and probably has at least that much more time to be there. He just had his 2nd round of graft surgeries and has a long road of physical therapy ahead.
Insurance will cover a lot of it but there is much that won't be covered. His wife, Sara, has been with him through the ordeal and her room costs $100 per night and there are many more expenses that they are having to deal with.
Craig is one of the most "giving" people I have ever known and now he needs to do a little receiving.
I'm just looking for a way to help them with the incidental expenses that they are incurring, and this site seemed like a way I could help. Help if you can, but if you can't, please make sure your mower is full of gas before you start mowing.
9/21/14 update
Craig and Sara got home yesterday. Now the work begins. He will have a long period of recovery and therapy ahead. We have raised about 25% of our goal, so thank you all who helped, but we're not finished. Please send the link to this page to all of your contacts. Remember, there are many more apples in an apple seed than there are apple seeds in an apple.
