Caring for Krystal

If you live in Bluffton, it’s likely you know Chris and Windy Buck. Parents to Kelsey, Casey, and Krystal, they’ve spent their whole lives here serving our local community. Countless babies have been well loved and cared for by “Miss Windy” during her decade as Sonshine Preschool’s lead teacher in the baby room.

Now Windy is taking a pause to care for her own baby, Krystal, who was diagnosed with leukemia in July 2022. The family is reluctant to accept financial support during this time; however, the tough reality is that Chris and Windy must be home with Krystal as she faces chemotherapy, its harsh side effects, and the challenges of homeschooling due to her immunocompromised physical state. Krystal’s total treatment and check-up timeline before being declared cancer-free will be 2.5 years.

They haven’t requested donations, but as Chris and Windy’s work hours are drastically reduced as they care for their daughter, their financial demands will only increase. This listing was created as friends and community members have asked for a centralized place to support the Buck family.
