Regain My Independence ♿️

Hello Everyone.

I've finally agreed to follow the advice of my carers and get past my embarrassment and start this Go Fund Me to purchase a powered wheelchair able to meet my medical needs. Three months ago my 8 year old Invacare powdered wheelchair finally gave up, leaving me bed-bound, taking away my Independence, quality of life and now my breathing is beginning to suffer majorly aswell which scares me.

As a quadriplegic with high dependency I need a powered wheelchair that has a number of additional automated functions giving me the Independence and Quality Life I'm so desperately in need of today.

Sadly the additional functionality that I need on my powered wheelchair does increase the cost of the wheelchair.

Last year I was quoted £13,945 to replace my wheelchair with a new one with the same specification.

There was no way that I could afford to do that so had no other option than to run my existing powered wheelchair until it finally could go no further.

There was also no way that I'd ever ask people raise that amount of money for me to purchase a brand new powered wheelchair so I found a dealer that only sells ex-Motorbility powered wheelchairs and £4000 would allow me to purchase the correct specification powered wheelchair for my needs.

I do appreciate that these are challenging times financially for everyone and I would never have started this Go Fund Me if it wasn't seriously effecting my physical and mental health.
