Medical situation

Hi, my name is Amal Abughali I would like to raise a fund for a medical situation! My relative in Gaza had recently requested assistance to help her grandchild leave Gaza for an operation on a cleft lip.

I'm sharing the story on her behalf.

It has never been easy to begin your life as a Palestinian, particularly if you were born in Gaza. However, if you were born without medical attention and with a genetic problem, it is far more difficult. And this is the case of Fai'a.

Before the war even began, on August 19, 2023, Fai'a was born with a cleft lip. She was scheduled to get plastic surgery when she's three to six months old.

When the war started, Fai'a was about two months. As of right now, Fai'a has been without a hospital for five months because every hospital in Gaza is closed. Moreover, they will require time to resume their work even in the event that the war ends.

All of this has pushed her family to think of moving to Egypt ASAP in order to gain time. Al-Qaser Al-Ainee professor Dr. Ahmed Abdelatif said he could perform the procedure for her, which would run her between $500 and $1,000. In order to ensure the success of the procedure, she must remain there for around two weeks, which will result in living expenses ranging from $3,500 to $4,500.

Fai'a is her family's second child. Adam, her brother, is two years old. So, the family must go out together. It is impossible to separate them.

The Egyptian coordination charges between $5,000 to $10,000 per individual, and this amount varies daily according on changes to the country's regulations. The payment of this amount is required at the Rafah border in order to exit Gaza and enter Egypt.

Fai'a deserves to start her life as all other children as she deserves to be treated as a human.
