John’s Journey

Donation protected
On September 23, 2013 John Siena suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, due to the rupture of a subarachnoid brain aneurysm, which resulted in brain surgery, and an almost three week hospital stay in the Surgical ICU with close monitoring.
The neurosurgeon on call in the emergency room that night said that it is nothing short of a divine miracle that John survived. We were told that less than 5% of ruptured aneurysm sufferers survive, and that of that 5%, <1% survive with no subsequent deficits.
It has been a long journey since then, with John suffering from blood pressure instability, memory deficits, and sensory processing difficulties. Although there have been some difficult times, we are grateful John is alive!
Unfortunately, at the time of the rupture, John did not have heath insurance, and the medical bills have been piling up ever since. Although we applied for Medicaid assistance while he was still in the hospital, the hospital negligently allowed the application to sit until it expired, and John was subsequently denied assistance. I’m sure you can imagine the cost of a brain surgery and a three week hospital stay in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit!
Although he has tried since then to manage the seemingly insurmountable expense on his own, that kind of debt has been crushing, and has caused many hardships.
We are humbly turning now to loved ones, and those with the ability to help in any way you can. We are thankful for any donations, and ask for continued support through prayer.
