Eagle Scout: Gaga Ball Pit for St. Paul's Orlando

Hi,

My name is Owen Clark and I am a Life Scout in Troop 200. I started scouting in 1st grade as a tiger scout in Cubs Scouts and have been working towards this moment for about 11 years. This moment being the rank of Eagle Scout which is the highest and most respected rank in Boy Scouts for generations of scouts. To achieve this goal I have to not only complete 21 merit badges(13 of which are required for eagle), serve as an active member of my troop, in various leadership roles, complete 18 hours of community service, but also plan, develop, raise funds, and carry out a service project otherwise known as an Eagle Scout Project.

My Eagle Scout Project is to build a gaga ball pit(octo ball pit) for St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Orlando. The traditional way to play gaga ball is in a gaga ball pit. Most of the youth who attend St. Paul's enjoy gaga ball at camps such as South Wind and Kulaqua. The problem is that once they come back from those camps they don't have the opportunity to play gaga ball. The building of this pit would allow them to play gaga ball whenever they want. This would also allow them to bond and team build within the youth group to become more of a family.

I joined St. Paul's briefly when I was in 6th grade on a trip to see a movie with them. After this I started to get more and more involved with the youth group and at one point joining the Student Leadership Team. Along with that I've also helped with there Summer Vacation Bible School.

I am asking for your help and support to raise funds to purchase the materials to build this gaga ball pit. The main thing the money will be going towards 32, 2x10 wooden boards, carriage anchor bolts, nuts, special brackets for the pit, and providing food for the people who help me with the project.
