Eagle Scout Project for a Mediation Garden

Hi my name is Joseph Turner. I am in Troop 777 in Woodland Hills, California. I have been active in BSA for 9 years. My Eagle Scout project is to rebuild a Mediation Garden at Kirk O’ The Valley in Reseda California. My project has three stages:

Stage one is to remove all weeds and evasive plants and replace them with drought resistance native plants. We will also improve drainage and add an automated Smart Watering system. I would like to give a big shout out to Theodore Payne Foundation, for their help and guidance in selection of appropriate plants.

Stage Two: Refurbish an old wooden Celtic Cross; Thank you to Dave Rottner and everyone who gave me advise on how to remove the black mold, repair termite and dry rot damage, and preserve the cross for years to come.

Stage Three: Improve the current walk way by removing the old loose and broken bricks and replacing them with new paver stones.

I have raised over $1,000 by selling succulent plants that I grew in my backyard. I am also selling copies of photographs that I took on my scout hikes. However, I am in need of an additional $3,000 to complete all stages of the project. Please consider supporting this project. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
