Eagle Scout Project for San Marcos Community

Hi, I am Nathanael Green, a Life Scout, with Troop 112 in San Marcos, TX. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project.

My project is to support Southside Community Center that provides daily meals, emergency shelter, and basic needs to our community in San Marcos. For my project, I am assembling backpacks with basic supplies and serving a hot meal at Southside in which my scouts and I will deliver the backpacks with supplies. I am gathering resources through donations for hygiene supplies, blankets or sleeping bags, and backpacks.

My goal is to assemble 50 backpacks for my project. I am placing collection bins at my church, First United Methodist, and I am already getting resources from friends and adults in my community. There will be likely be supplies that I do not receive, especially items like backpacks and blankets/sleeping bags. That is why I am starting this Gofundme page to raise funds to buy remaining supplies I need for my project, so that I can hopefully reach my goal of 50 stocked backpacks. I do not want my backpacks to not be equal in supplies that we offer to those in need. If you can help me by donating to my Gofundme account, that would be amazing.

I estimate that I will need $2,000 for my goal to be met. $10 buys hygiene items, $20 buys blanket or light sleeping bag, $30 buys backpack. Any donation you can make will greatly help!
