My name is Joshua Rowan and I am working on my Eagle Scout Project with the Scouts BSA, Troop 9288 - West St. Paul, Minnesota.I am building a Gaga Pit for NET Ministries at the NET International Training Center located in West St. Paul MN. My Dad was on NET team #1 in '83-'84 and my Mom worked for NET as the Annual Fund Coordinator from 1997 - 2001,
Every August, 175 young Catholics aged 18-28 leave behind their jobs, school, family, and friends to devote nine months to serving with the National Evangelization Teams (NET).
Divided into 16 teams, they travel across the U.S. for nine months to share the Gospel with young people and their families. Since 1981, NET teams have led over 32,000 retreats and ministered to more than 2 million young Catholics.
Besides the young people trained at the NET Center, there are weekend youth retreats held 2 -3 times a month, a monthly Lifeline Youth Mass, week long summer Discipleship Weeks and the NET Center is home to a Catholic faith community of over 300 families that run a very active youth group, cub scouts and girls programs for the over 500 youth involved.
I have been on NET retreats and Discipleship Weeks, I also have been a member of the catholic faith community at the NET center. I am excited to work on this Gaga Pit for my Eagle Project I know that this addition to the NET center will be frequently used. I would greatly appreciate any support you can offer to help me complete this project. Any remaining funds will be donated to NET.
