Eagle Scout Project - St Mary's Food Pantry

Hello, my name is Jacob Dehm and I am in the final stages of becoming an Eagle Scout. I am raising funds for my Eagle Project benefitting St Mary's Food Pantry located in Moline, IL. My project is a remodel of the main pantry inner room. It will include fresh paint of the room, new shelving throughout, and placing labels with the Spanish translation of food items to assist volunteers with language barriers with several of the pantry clients.

The current shelving has areas that are bowed and sagging. The plan is to replace with heavy duty wire shelving that will hold more weight and not have the bowing/sagging issue as well as adding some shelf space which will be invaluable for the volunteers. The fresh paint will be brighter and cover the areas that are currently unfinished repairs to the walls.

Since I have volunteered here along with my mother, this is a cause that I know will impact a multitude of families in my area and make the pantry a more inclusive environment.
