Eamonn's support crew

As many of you know, Eamonn Millar was very recently diagnosed with leukemia. He is currently with his parents, Jen and Trevor, at BC Children’s Hospital where he is receiving excellent care. Charlie is also surrounded by friends and family. They are all in great spirits, but this has been a sudden and unexpected blow.

Eamonn is a kind and energetic 9 year old who is handling this unfair curveball with all the bravery and resolve that anyone who knows him would expect; remarkably, he has not complained even once during his ordeal. Eamonn is a talented athlete who excels in everything he does, but, more importantly, he is a loyal friend and a caring brother. We cannot wait for him to get back to his sister, his friends, his classmates, and his teammates. For now, though, he has a fight ahead.

Many are asking about ways to help. All the support and well wishes the Millars have received so far have been massively appreciated. What would be of great benefit during these early stages is the freedom for Jen and Trevor to travel back and forth to BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver where Eamonn will remain at least for the next few weeks followed by frequent travel to and from Vancouver in the coming months. It will be an intense treatment and travel schedule.

Anyone who knows the Millars knows they are more than capable of handling any challenge that life might throw their way, but, as a community, we want to do anything we can to show support especially during these initial, unpredictable months of treatment. Funds will be used for ferry travel, hotels, and awesome hats for Eamonn. Excess funds will be donated to BCCH to further leukemia research.
