Earl and Lorna Shetler House Fire
On Tuesday afternoon, June 15, the Robertson Draw fire between Belfry and Red Lodge, MT flared up and rapidly changed directions. Initial projections said it would go the opposite direction from Earl and Lorna's house, but the hot afternoon winds blew fire across the canyon where their home was situated and flames spread quickly. God was merciful to allow Earl and Lorna to be home and to retrieve their Bibles, a guitar, a few pictures off of the refrigerator, a keyboard, their two pets, and a few important files. Other than that, Earl and Lorna's home, several sheds, and all of their earthly possessions were turned to ash. Christa and I stood with them after the fire the next day overlooking the ash-filled foundation and we were speechless. This is a devastating blow to lose so much so quickly. Earl and Lorna had been working to secure insurance for their home but the process had not yet been finalized, which means their home and possessions were not insured at the time of the fire. Both are hard workers and had labored extensively on their property. They own a small tree service in the area that they work themselves. That machinery was unharmed since it was in another location at the time. Please graciously consider helping them raise funds to start over with their home and meet their basic needs.
