"Ears For Aiden"

Thank you for reading Perth boy Aiden Morrison's heart warming Story.!

Our 9 year old Son and Grandson Aiden Morrison was born with a rare congenital condition called

 Bilateral Microtia and Atresia.

This means he was born without both of his ears forming properly. His ear canals did not develop either , causing him to have permanent conductive deafness . When he was a baby he was fitted with hearing aids and will wear hearing aids throughout his life.

We are fundraising to give Aiden a chance to have reconstructive ear surgery to both ears and give him his own ears as he so dearly wants to be like all the kids at school.

Due to wonderful advances in Medical technology,

Custom 3-D Su-Por implants are now available to be implanted into Microtia patients in Australia by highly skilled Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon Professor Joe Dusseldorp who performs this incredible life changing surgery in Sydney .

Out of pocket medical expenses for the procedures are approximately $55000 each ear.

Aiden will require 2 separate surgeries on both ears 6-12 months apart . This means he is required to travel to Sydney from our home in Perth for the initial appointment with the surgeon followed by surgery at North Shore Hospital with accommodation in Sydney for after surgery followups. This will be repeated in 6-12 months after the first ear surgery.

 His first surgery is scheduled in June 2025 followed by a second ear reconstruction 6 - 12 months after the first in 2026.

At this point in time this procedure is only offered in the Private Hospital System creating this considerable out of pocket expense.
