EARS Animal Ambulance Fund
Donation protected
When our animals are in need there’s no lengths we won't go, but dealing with emergencies is not an easy task, and there is no 9-1-1 for pets. Just as with humans, animals face emergencies that require specialty and critical care to safely transport them to where they can receive immediate help. That's what led to the start the first-ever “Animal Ambulance” in Connecticut operated by the Connecticut Emergency Animal Response Service (www.EARSCT.org).
The need for this service is proven in the emergency responses which have included pets that are oxygen dependent, on essential fluids, unable to walk, injured, or have owners that need assistance moving them. The current ambulance is a retrofitted SUV that has significant capabilities which no existing service in this area has. These include tools such as animal triage supplies, pet stretchers, a generator for transporting pets with monitoring equipment or that are on IV fluids, and an oxygen tank complete with sets of pet oxygen masks, all which are always on board.
EARS is an entirely volunteer-run, nonprofit organization, with the training and team needed to operate the ambulance 24-hours a day 365 days a year, and they are proud to provide this service. The ultimate goal is to eventually acquire a vehicle that can be used exclusively for the Animal Ambulance service and allow us to expand these capabilities even more. In the mean time, when a pet emergency happens at 3:00 in the morning, while you may not be able to call 9-1-1 for your pet, you can call EARS and they will respond to help!
This fundraiser has been created as an effort to help us reach our ultimate goal of continuing and expanding the operation of the EARS Animal Ambulance. Funds raised will be used directly for these expenses, which will include the purchase of a new Animal Ambulance vehicle and/or the necessary mechanical upgrades to our current vehicle, operating and equipment expenses, and administrative expenses including registration, licensing, and other state requirements. We extremely appreciate any and all contributions to this cause and our ongoing mission to help animals in need, and we thank each and every person for your support. We also welcome any questions you have to be directed to our main email address at [email redacted].
Please stay tuned for updates and posts on this fundraiser as well as our Animal Ambulance service!
Thank you very much!
