IF I CAN'T DANCE, IT'S NOT MY REVOLUTION!

THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION FOR ALL: Revolutionaries, artists, students, dancers, workers, activists, the oppressed, radicals, dissidents, those who are liberated, and all those who wish to be.

The endless pursuit of economic growth and profit is absolute madness. The list of issues is endless: climate, ecology, housing, debt, jobs, inflation, racism and more. Our revolution will be one of LOVE and HOPE, seeking structural change in order to end systemic inequalities. Together, we are reclaiming our future!

During Earth Week, all around the world from Oceania, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, people will be rising, engaging in non violent direct action to raise awareness about critical issues.

Join us throughout New York City, London and Rome as we celebrate and resist by DANCING in collective joy to restore, unite and propel ourselves towards a brighter future for all.

Rave Revolution Announces “WE ON FIRE” a Dance Gathering to Demand Economic Change Now!

It is crystal clear that our leaders, both political and private, do not have the courage or vision to affect the change required to bring carbon emissions down to safer levels and to protect the biodiversity that keeps us, and this planet, alive.  

 

Warned by scientists’ decades ago to sharply reduce carbon emissions, decision makers have instead increased the use of fossil fuels. Today, we are witnessing unprecedented ever-worsening wildfires, heatwaves, droughts, hurricanes and crop failures, while 69% of all non-human life has been wiped out since 1970.  

 

Political, business and cultural leaders everywhere have failed catastrophically.  

 

We, the sane people of earth, who love our children and the planet, demand system change now, before it’s too late. The scientific evidence is indisputable, both the UN and the US Federal Government declare that unless we slash emissions to half of current levels by 2030, run-off tipping points will lead to an exponential decline of conditions. Resulting in TOTAL ECOSYSTEM COLLAPSE and TOTAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE. This means: life as we know it will not be able to continue.  

 

Given the collapse of our climate, it is absurd that the production of all goods and services must grow to survive. Even when watching everyday news, there is an obvious disconnect between today’s constant flow of natural disasters and the message that more growth is good; despite record levels of CO2, poisoned air and water. Enough is enough!  

 

The direct correlation between economic growth and environmental degradation can no longer be denied!  

 

To save humanity and the biosphere that supports us, we demand the immediate replacement of the growth-based metric, Gross Domestic Product with Genuine Progress Indicators (GPI). The GPI metric includes both the social and environmental aspects of our economy. After all, what is the point of an organized economy, if not to provide for the well-being of the people and future generations?
