Healing with Nature
Donation protected
This fundraiser was created to support a series of community events happening April 20 - 22 in celebration of health and wellness form the personal to the planetary. We welcome accomplished author and world class traveler, Jon Turk, to Cleveland County to share his story in a variety of venues. These events will culminate in a county wide day of service projects happening throughout Cleveland County on Earth Day 2017. For a full event schedule click here .
The vision for this inaugural series is to bring together individuals in Cleveland County from all walks of life to celebrate our connectedness to one another, as well as to the Earth. The Mental Health Association in Cleveland County is promoting this series due to its focus on mental wellness. Many studies in recent years have documented measurable mental health benefits from being in nature - walking, hiking, biking, or whatever your chosen activity may be. Research has also shown community connections to be a powerful protective factor for preventing depression and suicide.
To ensure this series is as inclusive as possible, all events are free of charge. This is only possible through the collaboration and support of dedicated community members like you! Through a word-of-mouth, grassroots fundraising effort we have already raised over $2000. In order to cover our costs, we need your help raising the remaining $1000. All donations raised here go to the cost of bringing Jon Turk to Cleveland County, the cost of food for a community meal on April 22nd at Holly Oak Park, and the planting of trees in various locations throughout the County.
All donations are tax deductible through the Mental Health Association of Cleveland County .
Please help us make this a truly collaborative event! We can only bring this one-of-a-kind event to Cleveland County with your support!
