Earthquake Disaster in Turkey (Türkiye)

Hi, I’m Hannah and I am raising funds for this disaster that has hit Turkey (Türkiye).

On February 6th Turkey was hit by powerful earthquakes, measuring up to 7.5 on the Richter scale, which have caused wide-spread destruction and damage. Over 35,000 people have been killed and there are many more injured.

The country is in a state of emergency and people need immediate aid, including emergency shelter and food and drink. Thousands of buildings, including hospitals and schools have collapsed and the people are without shelter. The weather there is freezing cold at this time and so it is really important to ensure there is support for the many casualties and displaced families.

I am raising funds for the city of Sanliurfa, which is in the area worst hit by the earthquakes. Urfa is a city I only recently visited last year and where I have plans to return later this year. The city is in turmoil and the people really need our support.

I personally have friends here and so this is close to my heart.
