Ease Cathy's Journey

Hello Family, Friends and Clients. My name is Beth Pauls, and I am fundraising on behalf of Cathy Walton and her family.

As we all may know, Cathy is an inspirational woman with the most cheerful and caring manner. She is a loving mother, sister, daughter, auntie, greatest friend, loving partner and a Magician Beautician. For over 40 years, Cathy has devoted herself to making us all beautiful, inside and out. Her choice of career in the hair industry, which has touched us all, is part of why I'm reaching out with this fundraiser. The reality is that self-employment equals lousy, expensive health insurance and no matching, sponsored retirement plan.

Cathy has been valiantly living and working with cancer for over 12 years. She had to give up her much-loved Hair Artistry business in July 2010 because of her struggle with her cancer. Her clients and friends have kept her going throughout the years. Some have followed her since 1979 and have continued to support her with the mental, physical and spiritual toll this cancer journey has created for her. Cathy spent the last 6 years of her battle working as she pursued her love for hair styling at Mint Salon Block in Falmouth, Maine, until September 2022. Cathy is now in hospice at home, and the unexpected, hidden costs have caught up with her. She expressed a wish to me not to leave anyone with her unfinished responsibilities, and I would love to make that wish come true for her. Medical health costs and living expenses when you can't work...all add to the anguish you feel in this time of life. Please help us give Cathy and her family the peace of mind, support and love they deserve throughout the rest of Cathy's journey and grieving process. Every single donation is so important and greatly appreciated!
