Easing the Burden: Support for Esther Souvenir's Family
Donation protected
Thank you everyone for your generous donations. Esthers husband and church family were able to find a wholesale casket that we purchased already for $1,600. A kind funeral home in Sequin reduced the funeral cost dramatically and we are anticipating to need an additional $4,000 to cover that expense. Other funeral expenses may add up to another $1,000. I’m truly hoping we can avoid the family having to be out of pocket for this tragedy—they’ve already been through so much. The amount needed has dramatically been reduced and is now only $6,500–we need only another $3,000 to meet that. Please help by posting this to social media.
My name is Marvin Weatherholtz, a friend of the following family and also her church Bishop. We are saddened by the passing of Esther Souvenir on July 18. Esther will be remembered for her fierce love, resilience, and faith. She was only 40 years old but approached life and death with dignity and grace never blaming God for the crippling adversities she faced in her life, she will always be an example to me of great courage and love for family and the Savior. There is no doubt that she is at rest, though at the cost of the hole she has left in our hearts. Having known this sweet lady for years and being closely involved with the family through many of her health struggles and medical issues I’m painfully aware of how declining health and healthcare expenses effect families both emotionally and financially. The care her family and others have provided her through this long ordeal has been a true act of Christlike love and concern. Nevertheless, the financial burden now shouldered by the family is overwhelming. We would like to help provide some relief for the family during this very difficult time. Please consider donating to help with funeral costs and costs associated to get the family back on their feet. Generous donations are welcome but anything multipled by many kind hearts will help ease the burden. Additionally, if you wish, share a memory of Esther below. We are grateful for your support and care of Esther and her family.
