6/14/2022 Donation Update:

The remainder of the water from yesterday’s pallet and the two boxes of food items, work gloves, and portable chargers were delivered today!

Today, we delivered one pallet of water to Ravn. Tomorrow we will deliver another pallet. Ravn will bring cases of water to St. Mary’s as they have room and free of charge. When it arrives in St. Mary’s, volunteers there will distribute it where it’s needed most (any of the three villages-St. Mary’s, Pilot Station, or Mountain Village).

If you are looking for other ways to contribute, please see our public Facebook updates on one of our organizer's pages (Alana's): https://www.facebook.com/alana.ulak

6/12/2022 Update:

As of this morning, the East Fork (now all the way down to South Fork, as well) is approximately 3.7 miles from St. Mary's. There are 201 firefighters working to contain the fire. The wind has shifted and is coming from the West, for now.

St. Mary's still needs cases of water for folks who may need to evacuate, should there be an evacuation order.

At it's closest point, this fire is approximately 7.5 miles from Pilot Station. Pilot Station has low water levels in their well and are in need of drinking water. Some cases of water were delivered yesterday from St. Mary's to Pilot Station - donated by YKHC and this GoFundMe.

There is another fire called Apoon Fire which is north of Mountain Village by about 17 or so miles. Mountain Village's water is on some sort of alert so they can't drink their tap water. They usually have access to a spring with fresh water but water levels are too high and they can't get spring water right now.

Your donations are still very much needed in order to continue to send what we can to these communities.

Quyana (Thank you) for your generosity and for sending prayers and well wishes for everyone in this situation.

Original Story:
The community of St. Mary's, Alaska is now within seven (7) miles of the East Fork Wildland Fire. Volunteers and funds are needed to send cases of drinking water, gatorade or powerade, and snacks to the community members and firefighting personnel. Additionally, some community members may need funds for fuel should they need to evacuate by boat.

Approximately 60 elders, their escorts, and those with health issues have been shuttled to Bethel from St. Mary's. There is currently no evacuation order, but an evacuation order will begin if the fire reaches five (5) miles of St. Mary's.

The organizer works for a local St. Mary's company and is donating time to coordinate the logistics of getting water, gatorade, and food to the community. We plan to purchase pallets of water, cases of gatorade, and food items with these donated funds. Additionally, if St. Mary's has an evacuation order and there are people who reach out and don't have money to fuel up their boats in order to evacuate, we will purchase fuel for them with these donated funds.
