East Haddam House Fire Kitten

Donation protected
On Thursday November 30th 2023 at approximately 8:54am there was a house fire on North Moodus Rd. in the Moodus section of East Haddam. All human occupants made it out safely. There were 10 animals in the home at the time and unfortunately an adult cat and adult dog did not survive. 2 adult cats were able to escape. There were 5 kittens in the home that were about 4 weeks old, 1 was taken for resuscitation by a Colchester firefighter and 4 were immediately taken to the Moodus vet down the street from the incident. 3 of those kittens did not survive. One was stabilized and transported to Piper-Olsen veterinary hospital in Middletown, CT by personnel of the East Haddam Fire Department. The kitten is stable but considered critical for the next 48 hours. We are starting this fundraiser to cover any cost of emergency veterinary care and hopefully continued care if the kitten does survive. Any donations raised that exceed the amount needed to care for this kitten will be donated to a local charity for animals.
The kitten is currently being called "The House Fire Kitten of East Haddam." Thank you in advance for any donations, and we will be posting all updates here as we receive them.
