Lent in Tigray

As of November 4th, 2020, the region of Tigray in northern Ethiopia has been going through a civil war and genocide, with thousands of civilians fleeing into neighboring Sudan or becoming internally displaced in the regions capital city, Mekelle. Tigray has been cut off from most communications and resources are scarce. Although some aid and relief has been trickling in inflation and demand for food and medicine are at an all time high leaving many struggling financially.
With Easter approaching we ( charity organization @ahwatna on Instagram) are hoping to raise funds to provide warm foods for the breaking of the fast meals to those spending Easter in one of the many IDP's (Internally Displaced People's) shelters around the city.
People from all over Tigray are seeking refuge in these sites that once were schools but are now being used as hospitals/rest shelters. Many arriving with nothing but the clothes on their back fleeing war torn areas and surviving solely off of relief aid. We have already secured a caterer and transportation of the meals by our generous volunteers, and just need to raise funds for the purchasing of ingredients. There are hundreds of Christian families who have lost everything and won't be able to afford food during this holy communion so please consider donating to provide warm meals and help our brothers and sisters during this difficult time.
