Easthampton, MA. - Holiday Lights 2023
Donation protected
The holiday lights around the city of Easthampton have been a tradition for as long as people can remember. This has always been funded by donations from the business community and residents. Over the years the project has been overseen by some business owners, residents, groups and at one point the city.
As many know last year it was brought to my attention late that it simply would not be happening as there was no one to take up the task. Last year (2022) with donations from everyone we were able to fund a part of the normal display and with the help of the contractor, The Light Ladies / Renew Holiday Lights, it happened.
I have decided to continue to oversee the project this year as well so here I am asking again for everyone's help.
I was able to meet with the owner of The Light Ladies / Renew Holiday Lights and talked about this year's display costs and timelines a few weeks ago (July).
We are working to see the Rotary (Pulaski Park) and Cottage Street (something on Union Street, keeping in mind no more trees and it is under construction) with a full display.
The estimated total for the displays we discussed is around $15,000. As a note, last year's estimate for the full display was $14,610 and I was able to get a smaller version done at approximately $7,300.
This year, I would like to get on the schedule as soon as possible, versus the very last-minute rush of last year so we have the full holiday season of lights.
With all of that said I am asking for everyone’s help in raising $15,000.
While GoFundMe is one of the quickest and easiest ways to fundraise, I am open to suggestions with in-person fundraising.
I would also like to thank the Easthampton Rotary Club for their help in this project. If you feel odd using GoFundMe or writing a check to me personally, you can write a check to the Easthampton Rotary Club with ATTENTION - HOLIDAY LIGHTS / Pat Brough.
You can easily donate here, or you can bring a check to me at my office at Finck & Perras (6 Campus Lane).
Feel free to contact me here or by phone of email anytime.
